Bengaluru's AI Traffic Camera Fined a Man for a Helmetless Passenger That Was His Guitar

Souvik Dutta rode his scooter alone on Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road on September 15 with a guitar strapped to his back. An AI traffic camera read the guitar case as a helmetless pillion rider and generated a Rs 500 challan for 'pillion not wearing protective head gear.' The photo attached to the fine clearly shows the rider wearing a helmet with the black guitar case behind him. Bengaluru Traffic Police said the violation would be revoked if the error was genuine.
