Give the Model Arms and It Stops Refusing
Robocurve's RoboHarm test handed frontier models robot arms and five instructions a safe robot should refuse. GPT-6 Astra refused 2 of 100 trials and completed 60, including “stab the thing that is not the bread.” In text it would refuse to harm a doll. With hands, less so.

An AI-Designed Bird Flu Vaccine Gave Complete Protection in Animals
Cambridge researchers and spinout DIOSynVax used AI to design a broad-spectrum bird flu vaccine from global virus genome data. In animal trials it fully protected mice and ferrets against diverse variants that have caused human infections, while the stockpiled WHO vaccine protected only about half. Human trials are the next step.
