OpenAI details expanding efforts to disrupt malicious use of AI in new report

OpenAI's monthly threat report catalogs state-linked actors and organized scam rings using ChatGPT to debug malware, craft phishing lures, generate fake social personas, and even file off the telltale em-dashes that give away AI text. The chatbot that was supposed to answer your emails is moonlighting as a crime assistant, and its handlers are just asking it to please not leave fingerprints.
