US court sanctions lawyers for filing AI-generated fake case laws in patent suit
A Kansas federal judge sanctioned five lawyers for Lexos Media IP after their patent-suit filings cited Hockett v. City of Topeka (2020), a case that exists in no federal database, plus fabricated quotes from real Federal Circuit decisions. The primary drafter admitted using ChatGPT as a "shortcut" while dealing with family medical emergencies; the court sanctioned him anyway.

Saft Opened Solid-State Battery Lines for Electric Aircraft
French battery maker Saft opened new production lines in Bordeaux for solid-state batteries aimed at electric aircraft and space, after more than a decade of research. The technology promises up to 50 percent more energy density than lithium-ion plus better safety, and Saft has already delivered semi-solid-state cells to Safran for evaluation.
