Bing Chat Made Up False Scandals About European Elections

An AlgorithmWatch study found one third of Bing Chat's election answers contained factual errors, including wrong polling dates, outdated candidates, and entirely invented scandals pinned on real politicians in Switzerland, Bavaria, and Hesse. The safeguards were uneven, so the chatbot happily defamed people while refusing simpler questions.
