Quebec Voters Got False Election Info From AI Chatbots

An estimated 40 per cent of Quebec voters asked AI chatbots for election information, but with newsrooms blocking bot access to their content, the chatbots went elsewhere for answers. In the final three weeks of the campaign, 39 per cent of ChatGPT's voting advice came from an error-filled AI-built hobby website, and one chatbot directed potential volunteers to the wrong party's campaign office.
